Sample essay:

It has been argued by many that it is much better for governments to spend money on public services than in music and arts. This essay disagrees on the idea that investing in the arts is a profitless activity.

It is a well-known fact that a government’s interest is to serve its constituents. As such, most people believe that the only service the government should provide is only of the interest of the citizens, therefore, public service. However, this idea has been misunderstood by most individuals. For them, public service is synonymous to assistance in things like safety and security, employment, education, and urbanization, to name a few, that financing in the arts has often been overlooked if not totally dismissed. This should not be the case.

The arts, as minor as it may seem, can contribute to a lot of things. To mention some, consider tourism and employment. Countries that are renowned for their arts like France, Japan, and the United Kingdom are always flocked by locals and tourists alike. A nation that has a high rate of visitors generate a high income. This also results in a boost in their employment rate. As places become more and more popular, local businesses experience a rise in recognition as well as demand for any kind of product or service they provide to their customers. When demand goes up, so too should be the supply. In other words, businesses, whether small or big, would need to hire more workers to keep up with the demand.

In conclusion, a country’s administration should allot a good amount of money to fund in the arts for it helps to preserve the country’s culture and also improves the country’s economy.

In 1967, there was approximately 11 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide released by an average Englishman which was about ten times higher than the emissions made by an individual from Portugal. However, it can be seen that as time went by, the carbon dioxide emitted by Englishmen decreased gradually to over 8 metric tonnes in 2007. On the other hand, a different trend can be noted in the countries Italy and Portugal where the emissions slowly rose from an initial rate of approximately 4 and 1 metric ton to about 7 and 6 metric tonnes in 4 decades. In Sweden, emissions increased to its record highest in 1977 w...

In central Asia, Africa and South East Asia, more than 80% of their water supply is utilized in the production of food which is almost two times larger than in North America that has a greater need in the industrial consumption of water with 48% respectively. Similarly, Europe distributes over half of their water supply in their industries which is far larger than the 5% rate in Central Asia. Water for household use accounts for less than one-fifths in the overall proportion in all six areas in  the world. This data reveals that water is highly used in the production of both food and other commodities than for domestic purposes.  Wo...
