 Sample essay:

Women’s rights have come a long way. However, women still are victims of inequality in the workplace despite their educational and career achievements. Although this issue proves to be challenging and maybe even impossible to solve, two suggestions on how both genders can attain equal work opportunities will be presented in this essay.

One possible solution to this problem is salary transparency. This means companies must make information regarding how much their employees earn be made open and public in their organization. This practice not only benefits women but all members of the company since they can easily see the pay range specific to their jobs. When they see discrepancies in their wages, they can rightfully make a claim to their managers. The only downside of this action is that this can be a tedious additional task for work supervisors.

Another suggestion for this problem is mandating companies to have a company lounge or nursery. Many women who start a family end up sacrificing their careers to focus their full attention on their children. If companies can provide facilities where they can safely leave their children, many professional mothers do not need to worry too much about their kids and they also do not need to reduce their working hours in the company. Also, I believe these mothers can even visit their kids in the nurseries in between their breaks, therefore, giving them more inspiration and drive to do well at work.

Considering that the two suggestions provided are already followed by a few firms, the issue is far from over. Nevertheless, as more and more women are empowered and supported by governments and companies, the topic of gender inequality can gradually be improved as time goes by.
