Two-part Question Essay (Working student)

Some students work while studying. This often results in lacking time for education and constantly feeling under pressure.

What do you think are the causes of this?

What solutions can you suggest?

 Sample essay:

It is universally accepted that obtaining a college degree is the first step for a better life. This is the reason why many undergraduates, despite having some struggles, choose to work part-time while attending school. This essay will enumerate some of the reasons for this trend and some suggestions on how to fix these.

Education comes with a price and to receive the best quality education, students must pay a hefty amount to schools. Unfortunately, only a few people can afford this. As a result, many learners opt to look for a job to support their educational needs. However, sometimes work can be demanding both physically and mentally. Another reason for this trend is independence. Many young people nowadays want to live independently as a choice. These individuals want to prove that they can care for themselves without the help of others. On some rare occasions though some parents encourage their children to live on their own. With this, they do not have a choice but to fend for themselves.

As the working student lifestyle has become the norm, it is essential that help is provided when necessary. For instance, regarding money issues, financial aid should be provided to struggling students. Schools and local governments must have programs that can assist students with their funding. Colleges should provide special guidelines and a more flexible school schedule for their working students. More affordable options such as online classes should be available to them. For governments, they must remind local businesses that college students’ main priority is their studies and that work must not be too overwhelming for them.

Overall, it is understood that college education is essential and that many people are willing to experience hardships just to complete their studies. As members of society, we should learn to be considerate. Pressuring people with expectations to do well in everything is unrealistic and often results in more problems.

In 1967, there was approximately 11 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide released by an average Englishman which was about ten times higher than the emissions made by an individual from Portugal. However, it can be seen that as time went by, the carbon dioxide emitted by Englishmen decreased gradually to over 8 metric tonnes in 2007. On the other hand, a different trend can be noted in the countries Italy and Portugal where the emissions slowly rose from an initial rate of approximately 4 and 1 metric ton to about 7 and 6 metric tonnes in 4 decades. In Sweden, emissions increased to its record highest in 1977 w...

The topics are quite general so you do not need to explain your responses in too much detail.  As you can see, most of the questions in this test concentrate on the topic "Hotels and hospitality". We highly recommend assessing your own range of vocabulary about this topic by doing vocabulary review exercises such as listing all the words you know that belong to the scope of this topic. In two minutes, write down all the nouns, verbs, adjectives, and idioms you know about hotels and hospitality. DO NOT REFER TO YOUR DICTIONARY even if you're unsure of the spelling. This is your learning phase. Next, for another two minutes, list all the possible Synonym...

Similarly, Europe distributes over half of their water supply in their industries which is far larger than the 5% rate in Central Asia. Water for household use accounts for less than one-fifths in the overall proportion in all six areas in  the world. This data reveals that water is highly used in the production of both food and other commodities than for domestic purposes.  Wo...
