Task topic:

Every country has poor people and every country has different ways of dealing with the poor. What are some of the reasons for poverty? What can we do to help the poor?

Write at least 250 words.

Poverty is experienced by all countries in the world. Interestingly, there are various unique measures done to eradicate this problem in each country. This essay will look into the common causes of poverty and the ways in which we can assist those who suffer from this.

Population growth in many nations can be considered as both an advantage and a disadvantage. It is beneficial only when a country, with its millions of able-bodied workforce, can turnaround a problem as big as poverty and hunger. For example, in the recent decade, China used its resources such as land and human power to create a giant manufacturing industry. As more and more companies decide to establish factories in this nation, more and more jobs are opened and provided to the Chinese citizens. In contrast, if a country does not progress in any business line, their constituents will be left out without work to sustain their daily needs. Therefore, making poverty a normal sight to see.

Another reason for indigence is the lack of education. People who live in third-world countries have no access and financial capability to get a high-quality education. In fact, many do not even know how to read and write. This incapability gives them no opportunity to look for a well-paying job locally and elsewhere. As a result, these individuals get stuck in their hometowns and work jobs that provide meager payment for the rest of their lives. If not, they usually depend on support from their government which is usually insufficient and even delayed. Without education, they have no choice but to be reliant on donations from charities and political authorities.

To aid the suffering nations, two actions need to be taken. First, overpopulated countries must find a way to slow down the birth rates. The promotion of the use of contraceptives and distribution of these should be prioritized. Next, administrations must be persuaded to focus on developing a better and affordable educational system.  Needless to say, these steps’ success depends on the cooperation of both the people and their government.

Sample: The data from the line graph illustrates the carbon dioxide emissions of an average individual per metric tonnes in four European countries every decade from 1967-2007.A closer look at the data highlights the fact that among the 4 nations, the UK has the highest rate in carbon dioxide emissions per person in 40 years. In 1967, there was approximately 11 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide released by an average Englishman which was about ten times higher than the emissions made by an individual from Portugal. However, it can be seen that as time went by, the carbon dioxide emitted by Englishmen decreased gradually to over 8 metric tonnes in 2007. On the other hand, a different trend can be noted in the countries Italy and Portugal where the emissions slowly rose from an initial rate of approximately 4 and 1 metric ton to about 7 and 6 metric tonnes in 4 decades. In Sweden, emissions increased to its record highest in 1977 w...

Cambridge 11 Test 1 Writing Task 1

Sample: The pie charts represent the rate of distribution of water in three different sectors, industrial, agricultural and domestic, in six places worldwide. Generally speaking, the use of water for agriculture has the highest percentage in almost all areas globally whereas water for household use has the lowest ratio. In central Asia, Africa and South East Asia, more than 80% of their water supply is utilized in the production of food which is almost two times larger than in North America that has a greater need in the industrial consumption of water with 48% respectively. Similarly, Europe distributes over half of their water supply in their industries which is far larger than the 5% rate in Central Asia. Water for household use accounts for less than one-fifths in the overall proportion in all six areas in  the world. This data reveals that water is highly used in the production of both food and other commodities than for domestic purposes.  Wo...
